The Essential CFast 2.0 128GB is a premium memory card designed with innovative, proprietary technologies. The Exascend brand card is characterized by its high values of 550 MB/s continuous read and 530 MB/s continuous write. With such high write and read speeds, it proves its worth in tasks that require high bandwidth - such as shooting with a professional film camera or action photography in continuous mode. Thanks to the implementation of RAID ECC, it is equipped with the ability to recover damaged data.

The Essential CFast 2.0 is also characterized by a robust design that can withstand harsh weather conditions. The Exascend brand was founded in 2016 and started its production by providing robust SSD solutions for industrial and enterprise applications. The experience gained made it possible to expand the technical capabilities of the production line, so in 2020 Exascend expanded its business to include cards that are reliable in the photo/video industry. Technologies used:

SuperCruise™- Continuous recording of large amounts of data, as in video recording, can lead to a sudden drop in performance or interruption of recording. Exascend's branded technology eliminates this problem and guarantees unparalleled stability even in the most demanding applications. Unlike many competing branded systems, whose performance is only maintained in the initial stages of the write process, the unique SuperCruise™ algorithm is responsible for maintaining media performance until the end of the job.

RAID ECC (Error-Correcting Code) - a combination of two advanced data protection technologies. It recognizes and corrects errors that can occur during data transfer on two levels, both through storage in multiple flash memory blocks by RAID5 and through an additional ECC algorithm. This means that even severely damaged data can be recovered. The technology also improves system performance and extends the service life of the SSDs.

Adaptive Thermal Control™ - also known as adaptive thermal control, which prevents the card from overheating. This innovative technology from Exascend works on the basis of a patented adaptive algorithm that adapts precisely to the ambient conditions. The overall performance of the drive is constantly monitored and adjusted during operation - when the temperature rises, the algorithm reduces performance slightly, only to increase it again when the temperature drops. Maintaining this delicate balance results in highly consistent performance without the need for user or device intervention.

Afterburner™- an innovative solution from Exascend that enables faster writing and reading of data through the use of SLC cache.

SSDs are characterized by slower write speeds, which is a direct result of the characteristics of NAND flash memory, where writing data requires the erasure of existing information in the target storage unit. Afterburner™ allocates segments of NAND memory units for operation in SLC mode and only then methodically transfers them to other memory sectors. The SLC cache stores individual bits of data and is therefore considered the most efficient and reliable cache - its mode of operation significantly speeds up write and erase operations and offers an optimal balance between performance and longevity. In addition, Afterburner™ technology automatically transfers data from the SLC cache to the 3D TLC NAND flash memory without compromising performance. With regular use, the use of Afteburner™ facilitates the efficient management of daily write operations of SSDs.

Data Retention Plus™ - SSDs store data in NAND flash memory cells, which are characterized by a limited number of write/erase cycles. Over time, these cells become damaged, which is noticeable when overheating (higher voltages) or prolonged write/erase cycles occur - however, this process can be slowed down by evenly wearing down the cells. An algorithm developed by the Exascend brand enables the dynamic refreshing of data stored on flash memory devices, taking into account the current state of the memory. Memory consumption is distributed more evenly and data is adequately protected. Even at maximum utilization, this reduces the risk of data integrity loss due to the natural degradation of flash memory.

Smartstream™- Exascend's unique technology that enables seamless support of continuous shooting and longer recordings on the same card, balancing performance and optimal battery consumption. Smartstream™ analyzes the current write pattern of the NAND flash memory, allowing the optimal clock frequency of the SSD processor to be selected. This increases performance and energy efficiency, resulting in more stable write operations and longer battery life.

Conformal Coating - a conformal coating technology that increases the card's resistance to external influences such as dust and moisture. The coating, which meets stringent military standards, is applied to both the PCB and the integrated components. The coating process itself provides a uniform protective layer for the entire drive with the exception of the connectors.
